Lift up and don't look down

Lift up and not look down currently I'm reading a book called "Cotton comes to Holland", where the author explores Holland in his own perspective and discovers a mushroom called Psilocybin Mexicana (flesh of the Gods). After tasting ayahaunsca in Peru, a drink prepared by Shamans, the author has learnt the transforming effects of the hallicinogen. Now at Holland he tries the mushroom and experiences the effects of opening doors of perception to personal insights and growth. I was particularly interested to write a review for this book and I thought about what guidelines should I follow to write a constructive review, As I browsed the net I stumbled upon few reviewing techniques. I strongly feel I have to share my opinion of how to write reviews. As Dale Carnegie has said "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do", let's not become a fool, not doing much by condemning the writing. The author would have taken great pains to ...

An antidote to sadness

Try not to mix any unpleasing sadness to your thoughts. Remember the events that soothed or elevated your mind.  This way you can keep your mind in a happy state.  Keep it open for fresh thoughts to enter.  allow the mind to absorb spiritual thoughts of truth, grandeur, beauty, love, hope, faith etc. Enjoy every bit of the environment.  Think with your intellect what best you can do at any given moment. Keep your mind cool, free of tension, fear, anxiety, doubt and despise.
For me writing is life. The day I don't write, I feel I have done a crime. I myself don't know why this craving for writing has developed in me. Why do I feel that I have to write something? This question lingers me day and night. I have tried finding answers. The reasons are many, one main reason is to give a vent to the bottled up emotions. The ideas, the thoughts and feelings has to be shared with our fellow beings. I'm not a profound writer or I don't feel my ideas or thoughts are greater than others nor I feel that I should preach my philosophy to others. I write to  soothe my mind, I write to keep my mind crystal clear, I write to empty my emotions and keep it fresh for the new ideas to enter. I get a kind of untold happiness. I don't want to sugar-coat my writings and I simply write whatever comes to my mind. I don't want to violate this urge of writing. I'm a novice and I do not know the art of writing. It's only a strong force that arises from ...

As man thinketh

You can make your life as you want it to be. You can make it a bed of roses or a bed of thorns. Do not blame the circumstances for what you are today. Turn your circumstances at your will. Create circumstances as you want. How can you create your own circumstances or how can you better it? It's all in the mind. Mind is unimaginably fertile. Whatever you sow in your mind, you shall reap. Mind does not care what you plant in it. But whatever you plant, it yields. You can plant unwanted thoughts and make it a wasteland or you can plant constructive thoughts, so that you can contribute to the world better. It's up to you. Inspired by Bernard Shaw's quote- "People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can't find them, they make them." "As man thinks"-
